If you want colour, this is the one. Sky Candy arrived in 2021 and built a following almost immediately on the strength of its tutti-frutti palette; pink, purple, blue, green and orange candy stars, nothing else. The XL version keeps that identity and adds 440g more powder, which nearly doubles the run time from 30 seconds to 55 and gives you noticeably bigger, brighter breaks.
Every shot lifts on a big coloured dahlia star mine before bursting above, so there’s constant colour at both low and high level rather than just up top. The pastel shades are what set it apart; most barrages lean on gold and silver, so a cake firing nothing but bright candy colours genuinely stands out in a display and looks superb on camera. The XL revision also added titanium breaks and tightened the pace, so it hits harder than the original without losing the rhythm.
Firing from 30mm tubes with a 1.3G rating, there’s proper power behind it. Single ignition, one fuse, 55 seconds of solid colour.
